Ingredient:
- 500ml heavy cream
- 6 egg yolks
- 100g granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar for caramelizing
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 150°C. Prepare 6 ramekins and place them in a deep baking dish.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and vanilla extract over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until it becomes pale yellow. Add the cooled heavy cream mixture and whisk until well combined.
- Divide the mixture evenly among the ramekins. Fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the ramekins.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the custard is set but still jiggly in the center. Remove from the oven and let it cool before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.
